The Bobby Telfer Memorial Golf Scramble originated in 1999 to commemorate the life of Bobby Telfer of Lansing, Michigan. All proceeds from this charitable event will continue to be used for scholarships awarded to those student athletes graduating from Lansing Schools who exemplify Bobby's character, team leadership and love of life.
 
Since 1999, scholarships were awarded to student athletes graduating from Lansing Eastern High School. In 2017, the scholarship was opened up to student athletes from Lansing Everett and Lansing Sexton. In 2019, a scholarship to a student athlete from Lansing Catholic Central was added.
 
Over the last 24 years, $75,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Lansing High School students to assist them and their families in addressing the ever-increasing cost of college. Scholarships will be awarded to students that show a need for financial assistance.
